Inspired by the expressionist work of mid-century modern artist, Mark Rothko, this abstract painting, Study in Blue, examines the design and application of layers of color and texture. Shades of blue, aqua,and turquoise are contrasted with a border of crimson and purple. A strip of orange stretches horizontally across the surface of the design.

The original painting was created on a 24x36 inch stretched canvas with professional grade acrylic paints.
